The Embassy of Ethiopia in Islamabad and Pakistan’s Trade Development Authority (TDAP) have agreed to collaborate on organizing the Single Country Exhibition in Addis Ababa next year. This agreement was made following a meeting between Dr. Jemal Beker Abdula, Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, and Zubair Motiwala, CEO of TDAP.
The meeting also included key officials such as Sheryar Taj, Secretary of TDAP, Abdul Karim Memon, DG TDAP, and Ibrahim Tawab, Honorary Consul of Ethiopia in Karachi. They discussed strategies to raise awareness among traders about business and trade opportunities in sectors like agriculture, pharmaceuticals, automotive, IT, leather, and construction materials.
Both parties agreed to launch a joint campaign in Pakistan’s major cities to engage the business community and encourage their participation in the exhibition. This initiative aims to promote stronger economic ties between the two nations.
Ambassador Dr. Jemal highlighted Ethiopia’s Home Grown Economic Reforms, which have led to improved macroeconomic stability, higher productivity, and a more favorable business environment for foreign investment.
He also noted that Addis Ababa, as Ethiopia’s capital, serves as a key diplomatic hub, hosting major international events such as the African Union Summit each year.
